The ObjectScript source project contains two projects:

  • os - Run ObjectScript programs on the command line.

  • os-fcgi - ObjectScript for the web - a service designed for web servers and alike. os-fcgi implements the FastCGI protocol which is supported by pretty much all major web servers.

Installation should be done as the root user.

  1. To get started, download the latest version of ObjectScript and go to the appropriate folder:

    git clone https://github.com/unitpoint/objectscript.git
    cd ./objectscript

  2. Now configure the project for your platform:

    mkdir build && cd build
    cmake -DBUILD_SOCI=ON -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/ ..

  3. Now compile and install os and os-fcgi:

    make
    make install

  4. Awesome! Let's now start the os-fcgi service:

    service os-fcgi restart

Those are all the commands to download and build ObjectScript at a glance:

git clone https://github.com/unitpoint/objectscript.git
cd ./objectscript
mkdir build && cd build
cmake -DBUILD_SOCI=ON -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/ ..
make
make install
service os-fcgi restart
